Caldicot Male Voice Choir is a friendly, welcoming group of men who share a passion for singing, friendship and performing. Whether you are an experienced singer or have never sung with a choir before, you’ll be made very welcome.

How to
join us
Joining Caldicot Male Voice Choir is easy — and we promise, there’s no need to be nervous! Whether you’re an experienced singer or haven’t sung since your school days, you’ll receive a warm welcome from the very first night.
Step 1:
Come Along to a Rehearsal
We rehearse every Tuesday and Thursday evening, 7:00 – 9:00 pm, at the Caldicot Choir Hall, Mill Lane, Caldicot.
Just turn up, say hello, and one of our members will show you around. You’re welcome to simply listen at first, it really is up to you.
Step 2:
Find Your Voice
Our Musical Director will help you discover which voice part suits you best — Top Tenor, Second Tenor, Baritone or Bass.
There’s no requirement to read music — all you will be asked to do is conduct a simple informal voice test in private with the Musical Director. All you need bring is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Step 3:
Settle In
You’ll be introduced to your section and you will be given a mentor. Your mentor will guide you through everything you need to know and help you with anything you need. He will also offer you lots of encouragement. We’ll support you as you learn the songs, and before long, you’ll be performing alongside your fellow choristers.
Step 4:
Sing, Socialise & Enjoy!
Once you’re comfortable, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a second voice test, after about 3 months, where you will sing part of a song of your choice. Again this is informal and in private with the Musical Director. You may also have your mentor by your side if you would prefer.
You are then a fully fledged member of the choir and will be presented with a certificate and the choir tie and you will then be able to sing in concerts, charity events, and tours — both locally and abroad. Along the way, you’ll make lasting friendships and become part of a proud Welsh choral tradition.
